Discussion and debate have always been a key part of our broadcasting week. Over the pandemic it was difficult to broadcast interactive discussion shows but we managed to successfully deliver the Let's Talk project. This was a series of 11 programmes exploring the impact of the Covid pandemic on African and Caribbean people and communities.
This project showed that people have a lot to discuss!
The purpose of Let's Talk and similar discussion shows is to give African and Caribbean people a voice, to bring the voices of our listeners to the ears of people in power in Manchester and beyond and to gauge how the local community feels about the issues that are affecting them.
These shows also play a role in helping us to communicate important information and guidance, especially when there are advances in health, social care or education or when Government and local policy changes in ways that affect our listeners.
