Set up in 2008, Legacy 90.1FM is a vibrant hub of Caribbean music and culture, broadcasting from the heart of Manchester.

A group of community members saw a gap for African and Caribbean music and discussion and set up the station in response. Consequently, the station has grown into a vital platform for these communities.

The station's schedule revolves around the sounds of the islands including genres ranging from reggae and SOCA to dancehall and R&B. Furthermore, the schedule provides space for community shows on a whole range of important topics.

Legacy serves as more than just a community station.

The station team is 34 volunteer DJs, 3 volunteer directors, and 2 part-time paid staff. They are all 100% dedicated to making Legacy 90.1FM the best community station in Greater Manchester.

Our DJ presenters collectively have over 100 years of experience in the music industry. Additionally, our directors bring a wealth of business and charity experience to their roles. Together they are a dynamic force.

Even though most of our team are volunteers, everyone at Legacy works hard to bring you the music you love. We host community shows to support you with information that you can use to live a better and easier life. We work with other non-profits to share knowledge.
