Legacy 90.1FM projects celebrate, educate and inform about the important role of Black people in the UK. We also get involved in community projects and programming that help people with health, money, topical issues, finding support and much more...

We deliver community shows and programming that give advice and information from experts and give people opportunities to add their voices to important issues, not only locally but also regionally and nationally. We get involved in community projects that tackle issues that concern our community and we work with other organisations such as the African and Caribbean Mental Health Network, the T.A.P. Project and others to find solutions that work for our listeners and the wider African and Caribbean community.

We're always open to new ideas so if you want us to consider a community project that is important to you, why don't you talk to us about it. Email: legacy901fm@gmail.com or send us a message through our social media platforms or website. Alternatively, you can call us on 0161 222 0292.

Our Projects

Cost of Living Shows

We delivered cost of living shows from Black History Month in October to December 2023. This series was funded by People's Postcode Trust and We Love Mcr and include tips and tricks to reduce costs, save money, deal with debt and make your money go further as well as valuable expert advice. The shows were delivered in partnership with Greater Manchester Law Centre, Greater Manchester Immigration Aid, Maternity Action, Citizen's Advice, MSV Housing and the Tenant's Union.

Blood Donation Shows

From March to June 2024 we hosted a series of shows discussing all aspects of blood donation. These shows were funded by the NHS Blood and Transplant team and included honest and open discussions about the issues surrounding blood donation. Guests included a retired nurse, Can-Survive cancer charity, a family of blood donors and someone in Jamaica who talked about the comparison between attitudes to blood donation there compared to the UK.

Partner Led Shows

We allocate some of our community slots to other organisations and charities who work in specific areas such as mental health and wellbeing, youth, social or health issues, older people, environmental and other issues that are of concern to our listening and wider community.
