Welcome to Legacy 90.1FM, the only dedicated African and Caribbean community radio station serving Manchester and the surrounding areas. We are more than just music; we are a vital hub for culture, news, and connection within the community. Since our beginning, our core purpose has been to uplift, inform, and entertain African and Caribbean communities in Manchester. In March 2021, we solidified this commitment by becoming a Community Interest Company (CIC). A CIC is a not-for-profit social enterprise, every decision we make is guided by the needs of our listeners. Our CIC status allows us to secure funding through grants, donations, and ethical sponsorship and we rigorously report to the CIC regulator annually, clearly outlining the positive impact and tangible benefits we deliver to the community and how we support the UK music industry. Legacy 90.1FM exists to provide a platform for local voices, celebrate cultural heritage, and nurture the next generation of musical talent. Tune in to hear the difference that a dedicated, community-focused station makes!

At Legacy 90.1FM, our dedication runs deeper than the airwaves. We are passionately committed to providing a dynamic platform that champions culture, talent, and vital communication within Greater Manchester and beyond. Our work is focused on four key commitments: championing Black music as the essential station prmoting music of Black origin, ensuring these rich sounds reach the widest possible audience; empowering grassroots talent by actively providing a launchpad for grassroots musicians, aspiring DJs, and emerging broadcasters, giving them a voice; investing in the future with a commitment to training and equipping young people with the skills needed to thrive in creative and broadcasting industries; elevating Black voices so they are heard on social and political issues that matter to our community. Legacy 90.1FM is a crucial communication point for local services with dedicated airtime on our schedule to promote the valuable work of organisations that are helping people throughout Greater Manchester.
