Hopeton Overton Brown Aka Scientist is a true legend, he took dub reggae to a completely different level. Trained and mentored by the late, great, lamented King Tubby, he blew the scene into smithereens with his knowledge, skill and complete understanding of the mixing desk. Back for 2017 with a brand new album “The Untouchable”, Scientist treats us to a really great collaboration with some of the best artists of the international reggae scene, including Tippa Irie, Rod Taylor, Sabrina Pallini, Da Real Storm, Dubiterian, Ilhame Paris, Kelli Love. “The Untouchable” album sees Scientist reintroduce rhythms produce by Bunny Lee from the 70s alongside riddims he created back in the 80s.

The album comes with true Scientist style artwork. The design was hand drawn by Mark Dj Lighta McGuinness from Manchester UK. Future projects have also been confirm making Mark Dj Lighta McGuinness Scientist’s personal artist.

We caught up with Mark to discuss the project:
Mark- It was a pleasure to work with Scientist. We have spoken over skype on many occasions putting our ideas together. We also have a laugh which always helps. Scientist sense of humour is a lot like mine so we got on really well. We have become good friends and I look forward to continue working with the dub master.

Vinyl & CD is now out in all record stores and online. More information on Scientist can be found here:
